Quarterbacks

Peyton Manning (IND) Franchised, he will play at a high level for 3-5 more years. Owner offered contract but was unsigned. Promised to be made highest-paid in NFL.

Matt Moore (CAR) Might turn into a good starter in the right system.

Alex Smith (SF) first pick 2005 SF offered contract before lockout. Lots of talent but has had 6 system is 6 years. May just need a change.

Matt Leinart (HOU) Not much risk, but do not expect much more than dancing with the stars. Great heart – does the talent level match?

Running Backs

DeAngelo Williams (CAR) For a team that is close this is a guy who has and can deliver the mail! Played in just 7 games last year. Scored 20 TDs 2008. Averaged 5.0 ypc for career. Is he injury prone?

DeAngelo Hall on the field with ball, blood on uniform

Arian Foster (HOU) Led the NFL in rushing. $480,000 exclusive tender and is the best value in NFL.

Ahmad Bradshaw (NYG) Fumbles make him a bit of risk in spite of good production in running and passing  game. Everyone agreeable to a new contract but may have to give home team discount because of $$$ already committed to running game.

Cedric Benson (CIN) Back to back 1100 yard seasons and 14 tds. Solid pounder, when he runs they win. Looked slow at times kast year, makes some wonder about his ambition or if a contract player.

Mike Tolbert (SD) Franchised. Darren Sproles (SD) tendered. San Diego trying to keep this pair together for another year.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis (NE) has been training 4-5 times per week at Angelo Dundee’s boxing gym this offseason. Fits system he’s in but NE may draft replacement. Solid producer, should get paid.

Vincent Jackson (SD) 3 Tds in “that” game proved big time guy. Desires long-term contract but franchised. PAY THAT MAN!Vincent Jackson

Sidney Rice (MIN) Whoever is throwing to this guy…he will get it…Hey Bears, this is a good catch.

Santonio Holmes (NYJ) Off field problems, on field antics, sounds like a Raider to us, Al, you listening? Braylon Edwards (NYJ) He wiped off the butter and found his hands.

Malcom Floyd (SD) Big play(19.4 yards per catch ) Floyd plays with injuries, but is a playmaker.  Maybe bigger contract helps concentration.

Santana Moss (WAS) 93 catches – 1115 yards – Still productive but needs team with established QB to take advantage of his skills. KC a possibility but prefers to remain with WAS maybe for less money.

Steve Smith (NYG) Great possession receiver. On verge of stardom. Might be slow coming back from December injury.

Terrell Owens (CIN) Lots of production but who take a chance on him? Takes strong organization to keep his ego and antics in check.

James Jones (GB)  Wants to be starter but stuck behind established veterans. Great talent but inconsistent. Team may look to draft WR.

Steve Breaston (ARI) Keep ya cell phone on, a lot of teams will be calling. Questions about his durability may limit to shorter contract.
